Grocery-list preferences

The free dinner-plan checklist uses local storage, when your browser allows it, to remember selected dinners and checked groceries. The information stays in that browser and is not sent to our email provider. Storage is organized for the particular menu and recipe revision, so a later version may have a separate saved list.

Use “Reset list” on the menu to reset the current choices, or clear this site’s stored data in your browser settings to remove saved browser data. Clearing it can also remove other site preferences. Blocking storage does not stop you reading the recipes.

A temporary page-recovery marker

We use session storage under the name “fondfolk-asset-refresh” to avoid repeated automatic refreshes when a page file fails to load. It records a refresh time in the current browser tab, rather than an email address. Session storage normally ends with that tab’s session, subject to your browser’s restore behavior.

The email invitation

On larger screens, Fondfolk pages can show a small optional email invitation after a short delay. It does not block the page or stop scrolling. On smaller screens, use the regular signup form. Session storage remembers that it appeared in the current tab. If you close it, local storage remembers that choice for seven days. After the signup form confirms a request, a local marker prevents repeat invitations in that browser. These markers contain a flag or time, not your email address, and are not sent to MailerLite.

Clearing this site’s browser data removes these reminders. The reminder applies across pages, so moving to another recipe or article does not reset it. The header and footer email links let you open signup deliberately; on smaller screens they open the regular signup page.

Email signup services

When the signup form loads, it uses MailerLite’s script and services for subscription requests and form-use measurement. MailerLite may use technical identifiers or cookies for those functions. Its email reports may include opens and link clicks. The free recipes and plan remain available if the form is blocked or you choose not to subscribe.

Browser cookie controls and an email unsubscribe request are different choices. To leave Fondfolk emails, use the unsubscribe link in an email or follow the email-list help instructions.

Advertising is off

Fondfolk does not load Google advertising or Google’s Privacy & messaging scripts in this release. The publisher-verification meta tag and ads.txt record identify an account; they do not themselves request ads or set advertising cookies.

The footer’s “Privacy and cookie settings” link explains the current advertising status. It does not switch off local grocery storage or unsubscribe you from email. If advertising is introduced, the applicable controls and disclosures must be in place before ad requests begin.

Links to shops and other websites

Following a retailer, checkout or affiliate link takes you to a separate service. That service may use cookies and link parameters for checkout, security or attribution under its own policies. Fondfolk does not receive your payment-card details from a retailer purchase. Read our affiliate disclosure for the relationship behind paid links.

Manage browser storage

Your browser’s privacy settings can show, block or remove cookies and site data. Restrictions may affect saved checklists and third-party forms. Use the browser maker’s instructions for the browser you actually use, and remember that clearing data on one device does not clear another device.

Contact Fondfolk with a question. Include the page and browser involved, without sending passwords, payment details or other sensitive information.
