Count the wing pieces before frosting
Twist apart the six sandwich cookies and halve each wafer to make the twenty-four wings. Cut carefully on a stable board and keep any attached filling facing inward. Count the usable pieces before spreading frosting over the brownies, so a broken wing can be dealt with while the other components are still easy to handle.
Use the frosting to hold both wings and the face decoration. Keep the curved edges pointing outward and avoid pressing so hard that a wafer snaps. The short refrigerator stage firms the frosting before serving. Follow the purchased brownies’ and frosting’s own storage directions for any remainder; their ready-baked starting state makes this an assembly recipe rather than a brownie-baking method.
