Three sweet Halloween party recipes: chocolate pumpkin-seed clusters, white-chocolate mummy banana bites and warm pumpkin mug cakes. The full quantities and methods are below, including the mummies’ freezer step, the chocolate setting times and the mug cakes’ microwave checks.
1. Chocolate Pumpkin Seed Clusters
12 clusters · estimated 30 minutes
Ingredients
- 150 g semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 3/4 cup roasted unsalted shelled pumpkin seeds
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp flaky sea salt
Method
- Line a tray with parchment. Melt the chocolate in a dry microwave-safe bowl in 20-second bursts, stirring between bursts.
- Stir in the cinnamon and pumpkin seeds until evenly coated. Spoon into 12 small mounds on the tray, keeping the seeds clustered together.
- Sprinkle the salt over the clusters. Chill for 20 minutes until firm. Store covered in the refrigerator.
Keep the chocolate dry and the seeds together
Use roasted, unsalted, shelled pumpkin seeds: the green kernels rather than whole seeds with hard pale shells. The recipe adds its own small salt finish, so measure that separately. Chop the chocolate before heating and stir between every twenty-second burst. A dry bowl matters here; do not add water or milk to thin the coating.
Stir the cinnamon and seeds through the melted chocolate before portioning. The goal is twelve small mounds, with the seeds held together by chocolate. Keep the mounds separate on the lined tray so they can be lifted after chilling. Sprinkle the stated salt over the batch and give the clusters their full twenty-minute refrigerator set. Store them covered in the refrigerator. The pin shows four of the twelve clusters.
2. Mummy Banana Bites
12 bites · estimated 40 minutes
Ingredients
- 3 firm ripe bananas
- 150 g white chocolate, chopped
- 1 tbsp mini semisweet chocolate chips
Method
- Peel each banana and cut crosswise into four thick pieces. Arrange on a parchment-lined tray, one cut side down. Freeze for 15 minutes so the pieces are cold and firm.
- Melt the white chocolate in a dry bowl in 20-second microwave bursts, stirring between bursts. Put it in a piping bag with a small opening.
- Pipe thick crossing bands over each banana piece, leaving a small gap near the top. Add two mini chocolate chips in the gap for eyes, attaching with a dot of chocolate if needed. Chill for 15 minutes until set and serve cold. Refrigerate leftovers and use within 1 day.
Chill the banana before piping the bandages
Three bananas become twelve pieces because each banana is cut crosswise into four thick sections. Stand the pieces on a cut face rather than laying them on their curved sides. That gives the crossing chocolate bands a stable base. Freeze the arranged pieces for fifteen minutes before decorating; this is separate from the later fifteen-minute chill.
Melt the white chocolate in a dry bowl, using short bursts and stirring between them. Pipe crossing bands over the banana and leave a small gap near the top for the eyes. The eyes are mini semisweet chocolate chips, not purchased candy eyes or an extra ingredient. Add a dot of chocolate if the chips need help attaching. Chill until set, serve cold and refrigerate any leftovers for use within one day. The pin shows four of the twelve bites.
3. Pumpkin Mug Cakes
2 mug cakes · estimated 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup dry vanilla cake mix
- 1/4 cup pumpkin purée (not pie filling)
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp melted unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup whipped cream
Method
- Divide the cake mix, pumpkin, spice, milk and melted butter evenly between two microwave-safe mugs of at least 350 ml capacity. Stir each until no dry pockets remain, scraping the bottom.
- Microwave one mug at a time on high for 75 seconds in a 1000-watt microwave. Check the center and continue in 10-second bursts until the top is set and a toothpick comes out without wet batter; allow about 90–120 seconds per mug in total. Microwave powers vary.
- Rest for 2 minutes before handling the hot mugs. Top each with 2 tablespoons whipped cream and serve warm.
Check the mug capacity and microwave power
Use two microwave-safe mugs with a capacity of at least 350 ml each. A painted Halloween face is exterior decoration, not evidence that a mug is suitable for a microwave: check its actual label and avoid assuming that every decorative mug can be heated. Suitable plain mugs work just as well. Divide all the batter ingredients evenly, keeping the whipped cream aside for serving.
Stir right down to the bottom of each mug so dry cake mix is not left beneath the batter. The cooking instructions are for one mug at a time in a 1000-watt microwave. Start with seventy-five seconds, then use ten-second bursts and the stated center check rather than assuming every microwave needs the same total. About ninety to one hundred twenty seconds per mug is an estimate.
The top should be set and a toothpick should come out without wet batter. Keep the two-minute rest before handling the hot mugs. The measured quarter cup of whipped cream divides into two tablespoons for each cake. Add it after the rest and serve warm. One of the two mug cakes is pictured on the pin; the complete recipe still makes two.
An order that keeps the cold treats cold and the cakes warm
Start with the banana pieces and their fifteen-minute freezer stage. While they firm up, prepare and portion the seed clusters, then refrigerate the clusters for their twenty-minute set. Melt the white chocolate separately and decorate the cold bananas; return those to the refrigerator for their own fifteen-minute set.
Leave the mug cakes until close to serving, because their method finishes with a short rest, whipped cream and warm serving. Keep the cold recipes refrigerated until they are needed. These recipes have separate yields: twelve clusters, twelve banana bites and two mug cakes. Making all three does not make twelve portions of each dessert type.
These are existing Fondfolk recipe-development records, with estimated times rather than kitchen-test results. The photographed portions are labeled on the pin. No extra candy eyes, chocolate drizzles or decorative ingredients are part of these formulas.

For lining the cluster and banana trays, half-sheet parchment can separate the portions during chilling. Trim it to fit the tray. It is a liner, not a replacement for the dry microwave-safe bowl used to melt chocolate.
For the crossing white-chocolate bands, compare piping bags and tips and choose a small opening suited to thick bands. This is a changing search-results page, not an endorsement of every bag or tip listed.
For the seed, cake-mix, spice, milk and butter amounts, measuring cups and spoons keep the stated cup and spoon units clear. Measure the whipped cream separately before dividing it between the two cakes.
For the chocolate quantities written in grams, the registered dual-platform kitchen scale is one option. Check capacity and units, keep it dry, and use a scale for the weights rather than replacing grams with an assumed cup conversion.
