Choose the method your kitchen can handle

The witch-hat cookies use ready-made chocolate-covered cookies, kisses and icing. There is no oven stage, but piping and a short flat rest are part of the job. The pudding cups begin with prepared, chilled pudding, so their short estimate is an assembly time rather than a promise to make and chill pudding from scratch.

Pumpkin mug cakes are the microwave choice. Use the specified mug capacity and cook one mug at a time, checking each center as the method directs. The ten-minute estimate does not mean that two mugs cook together in a single short burst. The hot mugs also have their own rest before topping and handling.

Separate active preparation from time spent waiting

Chocolate bark is spread while melted and then chilled until firm before breaking. Its forty-minute estimate includes that setting stage. It is a different commitment from the apple nachos, where the fruit and toppings are assembled for immediate serving. Choose the bark when there is time for a tray to set, or the platter when you can finish and serve straight away.

Pumpkin yogurt parfaits need no baking, but the cups stay refrigerated until serving. Add the finishing granola at the end so it keeps its crunch. The pumpkin in these cups and the mug cakes is plain puree, not sweetened pie filling; the recipes already specify their own flavorings and other ingredients.

Match the yield to the occasion before multiplying

Twelve decorated cookies and twelve pieces of bark are not twelve full dessert bowls. Compare the actual yield labels in the table, then decide whether you want a small piece, an individual cup or a shared fruit platter. The mug cakes make two, the parfaits and pudding cups make four, and the apple nachos are a four-serving platter.

Seasonal names and decorations remain part of these recipes. Read the ingredient list before choosing, especially where there are peanuts, dairy or packaged cookies and cake mix. Keep each recipe's original quantities, preparation and storage instructions rather than combining the six into one method.
