Reserve the bandage coating first

Set out all twelve pretzels and the lined tray before melting. Reserve the specified portion of coating in a separate bowl so the dipping stage cannot use it all. Leave the lower portion of each rod uncovered as a handle, and let excess coating drip off before laying it flat; thick puddles can make the finished rods awkward to lift.

Let the first coating firm before adding thin bandages. If the reserve needs warming, follow its package rather than overheating it to make it pour quickly. Add eyes while the drizzle is wet, then wait for the final set before packing. Use edible decorations chosen for the people eating them and retain the actual product labels for ingredient questions.
